~Mark 6:56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
Oh to be made whole again! Everyone has a need – whether it be physically, spiritually or emotionally. I love today’s picture! Looking at this one beautiful rose picks up my spirits! God’s creation is so beautiful – each flower different from the other in color, shape and size! I touch the hem of the Lord’s garment each time I meditate on His goodness – He overwhelms me! Meditating on His creation, His blessings and His goodness.
What is the reason that you need to touch the hem of Christ’s garment today, dear Christian? Are you discouraged?
~I Peter 5:-67 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Our Heavenly Father loves us so much! When we are disheartened, He knows! He looks upon His children with compassion and pity.
~Lamentations 3:22-25 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. 25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
~Psalms 103:13-14 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
Or maybe you need to touch the Shepherd’s garment because you need direction in your life.
~Psalms 23:2-3 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
~Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
~John 10:2-4 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
Those who are stricken with a long-term illness, cancer or chronic pain need to touch the hem of His garment. They desire to be healed, whether in this life time or in eternity, suffering daily as no one can begin to comprehend.
~Psalms 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
~Psalms 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
~Psalms 34:17-19 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
For whatever reason we have, there are times when we need to touch the hem of the Saviour’s garment. We can only reach the hem if we are on our knees, reaching out. It is there we will find His outstretched hand ever so ready to comfort His child. I love this song by Fanny Crosby! The words are absolutely beautiful and perfect for the one who is reaching out to touch the Master’s garment! I pray it is a blessing to you today.
Hold Thou My Hand
Hold Thou my hand; so weak I am, and helpless,
I dare not take one step without Thy aid;
Hold Thou my hand; for then, O loving Savior,
No dread of ill shall make my soul afraid.
Hold Thou my hand, and closer, closer draw me
To Thy dear self—my hope, my joy, my all;
Hold Thou my hand, lest haply I should wander,
And, missing Thee, my trembling feet should fall.
Hold Thou my hand; the way is dark before me
Without the sunlight of Thy face divine;
But when by faith I catch its radiant glory,
What heights of joy, what rapturous songs are mine!
Hold Thou my hand, that when I reach the margin
Of that lone river Thou didst cross for me,
A heavenly light may flash along its waters,
And every wave like crystal bright shall be.
