One Sacrifice Forever!

~Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

When something is considered perfect and that perfection is to last forever, why is there a need to find something else that will top it?  There is no need because that which is perfect cannot be perfected any further!  Is that not correct?  Then why must some religions have an offering of daily sacrifices? Let’s look to the Scriptures because the Bible has all the answers to every question! Is it any wonder that religions who depend on their own works for salvation try to turn you away from reading the Scriptures? They want you to depend on the leaders of the church to “interpret” what God’s Word says so that they can have an upper hand over your spirituality.  But the Bible totally explains what man must do to be saved.  God does not leave our eternal life in the hands of another human being, my friend.

Today’s text clearly talks about the sanctified people. These are the set apart (definition of the word sanctified) born-again, saved children of God who accepted the Blood of Jesus Christ as their one and only sacrifice and the ONLY way to Heaven. The Apostle Paul made it clear that Jesus’ blood was offered one time and that one time was perfect! How long does perfect last? According to our text, forever. Furthermore, Paul explains that despite the priest’s attempt to offer a daily sacrifice, it would never take away sins as Jesus’ sacrifice did.

~Hebrews 10:11-12 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

So tell me then, how can someone lose their salvation? If a person truly believes on the Lord Jesus and is saved according to the following verse, how then can they lose when a perfect sacrifice (which lasts forever) was offered – how can that be negated?

~Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

When one is truly born-again, his life changes.  Paul preached “our life will change” to the most carnal church in history, the Corinthian church.  If any church represents today’s church age, it is that one.  People claimed salvation but they continued in their sin.

~2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Therefore, he does not continue to steal if he was a thief. He does not continue to live in adultery if he was an adulterer. Look at the woman at the well! (~John 4:5-26) Jesus confronted her about her sin and offered her the living water of salvation. He told her to go and sin no more. One cannot do this unless one is truly born again!

After we are born again, we no longer need sacrifices because, again, Christ’s sacrifice was perfect and forever!

~Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Christ’s blood is sufficient. Nothing else needs to be added to His sacrifice to make it any more perfect. His sacrifice is everlasting! Nothing else is sufficient. Only God can provide a sufficient gift (Jesus Christ) which will be perfect and forever!

~2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
