We think we’re OK and that we can’t be THAT bad that we won’t make it to Heaven. This is not new thinking. It is as old as man!
~Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
We THINK we’re on the right road. We THINK we’re OK – but the truth of the matter is that we are ALL sinners. Not one person is exempt from the word ALL.
~Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
All means ALL!
~John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Born again? What in the world does THAT mean?
~2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
~Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
When we accept Christ as Saviour, we become a new creation. We no longer desire our sinful ways but instead we have remorse when we sin. Paul tells us in Galatians that religion did not matter – what mattered was being a new creature. Those of the circumcision, the Jews, were very religious. They knew they were God’s chosen people and clung to that. However, Paul said it didn’t matter whether or not we were Jewish. What matters is the new heart that we get when we are born again. It is not being a member of a particular church that will get you to Heaven. Each one of us will have to give an account before God for our own actions. Did we receive Christ or not? Were we born again or not?
~Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
What is there to believe? We must believe first of all that Christ is God and that He left Heaven to come to earth. He had a mission and that was to die in our place to take on Himself our penalty of death – our penalty of eternal life in the lake of fire! After Christ died, He arose from the grave on the third day and now sits at the right hand of the Father. Christ will return and will reign on this earth in the not too distant future.
The whole purpose of Christmas is to celebrate Christ’s birth for without His birth, we would all be gonners! Without His resurrection, we would be gonners. Therefore, make this Christmas the best gift to yourself EVER! Give your heart to Christ and let Him renew your mind. Watch and see how He will change you!
~Titus 3:3-5 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
