Day-by-Day- Day 41 – Fiery Trials

~Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

How often do we really desire God’s will in our lives? It is not our nature to desire anything that would be difficult in life. We do not wish for sickness, heartache, and difficult trials. However, there are times that God allows sickness, heartache and difficult trials to draw us closer to Him. He also allows them so that we can be a help to others who are going through the same thing. All that we go through in life should be a testimony to God’s goodness and His faithfulness.

So when we go through difficulties, let us be thankful because we know that it is God’s will for us and He will be sure to help us through. God never gives us more than we can handle.

Fiery trials make golden Christians.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon

    Hi Kate,

What a blessing this devotional was to me today! Last night my brother had to make the decision of turning the life support off of his wife’s body. Her soul had gone on to heaven after 4 days in the hospital on life support. We prayed and prayed and begged God for her life. His will was for her to come home to Heaven with him. It wasn’t what we wanted but I’m thankful for His will being accomplished. Praise the Lord for his strength and comfort that is with us each day.

Oh Tobitha, how sad this is for the family your sister-in-law left behind! That is the hardest thing about death. The legacy she has left is a blessing because your family knows she is with the Lord and you will all see her again. Praise the Lord \o/ Please pass on my deepest sympathies and I will be praying for your dear brother as he mourns the loss of his precious wife!!!

    AMEN & AMEN!!!
