I want to express my deepest gratitude to all those who are serving in our military! Without our men and women in the armed forces, we would not be the great nation we are today. I am saddened at the war protestors because they attack our military as if they personally were the decision makers. Our military goes where they are sent. They deserve our support – they deserve our prayers – they deserve our gratitude and love!
I dedicate my post today to my sons and to my dear husband. Although my husband did not serve in the military, he has served our community for almost 30 years. My husband and sons are my heroes and so are the rest of those fine men and women of the United States Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, Navy, Reservists and Coast Guard. I am certain there are many others I have failed to mention but please know that this lady is grateful for the hard work and dedication of all of you!
Aaron, my oldest, is in the U.S. Army and is currently at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas for his Advanced Training in Signal Intelligence. Aaron accepted Christ at 6 years old! Such a young boy but a tender heart! He has overcome many obstacles to get where he is today! He has been a faithful son and we are so proud of him! God is so Good!
Adam, our youngest, is a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and is currently stationed in Okinawa as a Forward Observer in Field Artillery. His testimony is an awesome one! It is but the grace of God that he is where he is today! Adam was born again when he was 9 years old. He’s had his own sets of obstacles but the Lord had His hand on this young man! To God be the glory, great things He hath done! 🙂
You can’t tell we are proud parents, can you?
John was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in February. He has overcome much in the last few months and remains positive. I am so blessed to be his wife! John has been a police officer since 1975 and had just put in for his retirement, which was to happen May 1st of this year. In preparation for John’s retirement, we sold our house last October and had downsized to a two-bedroom apartment while we were waiting for the “big date” to move to Oregon! The date has been pushed back a couple of times but we know that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord!
Again, I thank the Lord for these men in my life! I thank Him also for all of you who have served or are serving now. You are my heroes! I am grateful for what you are doing! Americans have the freedom to speak their minds even if it means hurting other Americans. It is a tragedy that our military is not revered as they once were.
I know that there are still patriots out there. Twice our Marine has gone to Olive Garden and both times someone anonymous has paid for his meal! Even if we cannot afford to do something as generous as this, we can say a simple “thank you” to those military men and women God puts in our path. I am humbled by their dedication as well as their love for their country. God bless each of you who have served or are still serving!
