It is interesting that Jesus Himself would use this term to describe His ministry to mankind – a door, a simple yet very poignant description indeed.
Picture this, if you will. You’re going to visit someone. You are approaching their house and you walk up the pathway to the door and knock. They do not immediately answer the door, so you knock again. Again, no answer. Do you break the door down to gain access to their house? Of course not. Thinking that they are not at home, you walk away with plans to return another day.
Jesus is no different. His Holy Spirit draws us to Him. The Spirit’s job is to glorify Jesus Christ through us by drawing us to salvation. As a result, the fruit of the Spirit that shines through us are a testimony to the saving and changing power of Jesus Christ. Salvation, however, is very straight forward. It does not involve a complicated path or a series of complicated tasks or rules. Salvation is quite simple – the lost hear the call of the Holy Spirit wooing them to salvation.
~John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (27) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (28 )
Once the lost hear Christ’s voice, they enter the only door that leads to salvation.
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. ~John 10:7
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. ~John 10:9
Once we enter into salvation through the Door, Jesus Christ, we are born again. We are new creatures – we are His sheep and He is our Shepherd. He wants to have a personal relationship with us but we must come to Him using God’s way. Being born again is a relationship with Christ, not a religion. There are no perfect churches out there. If there were, none of us could be a member because we are all with sin. However, being born again puts us into a personal relationship with Christ where we are His sheep and we hear His voice. He is our Shepherd and He cares for us, feeds us through His Word, and keeps us safe.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. ~Revelation 3:20
Many claim they are His, but they try to enter using another way – through false religion – or through their own works. There is no other way, my friend. No matter how much the magisterium and traditions of the roman system try to convince you, Mary has no involvement. The first of Marian dogmas began in the year 431 at the Council of Ephesus, ironically at the Church of Mary! Mary is not the door to God through Christ Jesus, as catholicism claims. That cannot be found anywhere in the Bible. Jesus is the only Door in which we can gain entrance to Heaven. The ecumenical world will say there is another way. However, the Bible has an answer to that as well:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. ~John 10:1
The catholic church would have its members believe that there is salvation only through them. However, the Bible does not say that. The Bible says that salvation is attained by going through the Door, Jesus Christ.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ~John 14:6
There will come a time when that door will be shut and none will be able to enter. Now is the appointed time of salvation to those who read.
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) ~2 Corinthians 6:2
Do not wait until it is too late. If you have an ounce of doubt as to whether or not you are saved, settle it once and for all before it is too late for you. You do not want to be left standing at the door and Christ does not let you into His Heaven.
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: ~Luke 13:25
The most horrible words a man can ever hear is,
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. ~Matthew 7:23
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels ~Matthew 25:41:
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. ~Luke 13:27
