The Catholic Catechism states that the catholic becomes Christ Himself!
“Let us rejoice then and give thanks that we have become not only Christians, but Christ himself. Marvel and rejoice: we have become Christ.” Pg. 210, #795
“For the Son of man became man so that we might become God.” Pg. 116, #460
“The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods.” Pg. 116, #460
The mormon church and other cults teach that man can become gods. However, even having grown up as a catholic, I had never heard the catholic church teach this. So why are these three quotes found in the catechism? The catechism is a book detailing what the church believes and teaches its members, is it not? So why are these found in the catechism?
The Bible states:
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:5
Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ… Luke 21:8
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. Matthew 24:23
Don’t be upset with me – I am merely quoting what is written in your catechism! I would not stay in a church that taught such things. If you did not know about these three quotes, what else is there in the catechism that you do not know about? Read the other articles I have placed on this page. I beg you to allow the Holy Spirit of God to minister to you instead of the catholic leaders who are filling you with lies.
